Dear Bryan ISD Families,
I’m writing to let you know about new security measures coming to our elementary schools. During the Texas Legislative Session this summer, House Bill 3 was signed into law. Effective September 1, 2023, public schools are required to have armed security officers present at every campus.
During our August 7 meeting, the Bryan ISD School Board of Trustees approved an agreement with TNT Security Solutions. We will now have armed security officers at our elementary school campuses. This is separate from the School Resource Officers we already have in place with the Bryan Police Department at the other campuses.
We believe these new measures will be a great addition to our comprehensive security plan. Bryan ISD is committed to safety and will make every effort to make students and families comfortable with these changes.
