In the continued interest of safety and to allow buses and car riders the opportunity to travel to school in the daylight, Bryan ISD will delay the start of school Tuesday, Aug. 29 by two hours. Morning Pre-K classes are cancelled. All bus pick-ups, school start times, employee arrival times and normally scheduled activities will be delayed two hours from their normal start time.
District officials have been driving area roads and consulting with local agencies and emergency management officials in order to arrive at the decision to delay school by two hours. Bryan ISD encompasses more than 450-square-miles, and as such roadway conditions vary throughout the region of our large District. Car rider families should keep safety at the forefront of their decisions about whether to drive to school. Avoid flooded roadways and do not put yourselves or your children at risk.
Check the .pdf below for start times on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
District officials will continue to monitor roadway conditions throughout the day and into the early morning hours on Tuesday. Parents, staff and community members should continue to monitor local media and the Bryan ISD website/Facebook/Twitter accounts for updates.
