On March 10, 2016 The Texas Center for the Missing (http://centerforthemissing.org/) hosted the statewide judging for the 2016 National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest. During that judging process an entry from our regional contest that had been conducted on January 13, 2016 was selected to represent the State of Texas at the national contest level.
The winning poster for the State of Texas was created by Fantasia Martinez, a 5th grade student at Crockett Elementary in Bryan, TX. Her instructor is Ms. Leticia Garcia from Crockett Elementary and this is the second year in a row that the state contest winner has come from a Crockett Elementary student!
Attached is a photo of Fantasia Martinez along with her winning poster and Assistant Chief of Police Chuck Fleeger (College Station Police Department) who serves as President of the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley (www.aanbv.org). AANBV has sponsored the regional contest for the last 6 years and serves as a regional law enforcement and child protection resource.
Congratulations to Fantasia!
